Custom Digital Mural
Bonjour! Custom digital Eiffel Tower artwork created for the Chicago French Market. Located in Ogilvie Station, a main commuter hub on the northwestern edge of the Loop, the market is home to 30-plus specialty vendors that offer a wide variety of of produce, meats, fish, pastries, chocolates, cheeses, wine, flowers and more. Entirely covering the three walls at the bottom of the market's east end (in a U-shape), the enormous mural was conceived to give dining patrons the effect of sitting under the base of the Eiffel Tower. Because every surface is covered, a variety of substrates, including vinyl wallcovering, pressure-sensitive vinyl film and perforated one-way window film were employed, rendering the final visual effect seamless. Furthering the French influence, the mural was illustrated so as to dissolve into colors and shapes when viewed close up and then to reassemble into a cohesive image when viewed from a distance, à la French Impressionist painter, Claude Monet.

A graphic reminder that where you start on a project is not always where you end up. This was the original sketch that was presented to the client for this mural. They loved it, but ultimately decided to go in a (much!) different direction. C'est la vie!
