CLIENT: Davis Ink via Wall Resources Ink
SCOPE: Custom Architectural Artwork
Custom digital koi pond artwork created for The Kress, a 38,000 sq. ft. mult-level nightclub, restaurant, sushi bar and event space located in the restored 1934 Art Deco landmark Kress Building, former home of Frederick's of Hollywood in Hollywood, CA. With interior design by the creative tornado of talent, Davis Ink, the enormous venue was an opulent Chinoiserie/Art Deco fantasy exploded to life.
The artwork I was commissioned to create for the Asian-fusion restaurant area is a collage of both photographic and illustrative vector elements and was printed on a natural grasscloth wallcovering, giving the final artwork a lovely antiqued tea-stained quality.
After an enormously successful, celebrity-studded, high-profile run, the club closed its doors in 2011.
